a graduate of Brno Conservatory and the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts – also studied violin with Zakhar Bron and ViktorTretiakov, prominent virtuosos and violin teachers. He took part in over twenty competitions, which he either won or received prizes and special awards from (Concertino Praga, Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, the Prague Spring International Music Festival, Paganini Competition in Genoa, Tokyo International etc.). He has received an award from RAI, an Italian broadcasting company, and a Henryk Wieniawski medal. Novotný performs his ever expanding, exceptionally broad repertoire (e.g. over seventy orchestral pieces) with prominent symphonic ensembles around renowned venues in Europe (Salzburg Grosses Festspielhaus, Herkulessaal München etc.), Japan (Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Suntory Hall) and USA (Carnegie Hall). Aside from traditional repertoire, he also plays lesser-known or completely unknown works by noted composers (Bernstein, Korngold, Barber, Copland, Rózsa, Berg, Jan Novák). Radioservis has released the first Czech recordings of Arensky’s and Taneyev’s Romantic concertos (2017),recorded by Novotný. He has recorded albums for both international and Czech record labels, such as Dvořák’s and Brahms’ violin concertos (with Jiří Bělohlávek) or the unique two disc set of Ernest Bloch’s works. He teaches at the Janáček Academy, Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, in addition to also regularly teaching master classes (Czech Republic, Poland, France, Japan, USA etc.). Novotný was awarded professorship in 2009 and is a jury member at several international violin competitions (Prague Spring, Ernst-Szymanowski, Carl Flesch, Balys Dvarionas Competition, Telemann Competition etc.).

Ildikó Versánszky

 

Violinist, profesor at the Kodály Zoltán Secondary School of Music and Music School – AMI in Debrecen. She is the head of the Department of string instruments. Also, she works at the Faculty of Music at Debrecen University as the Leading mentor. She is the soloist, concert master of the chamber orchestra Debreceni Lyra Szimfonikus Zenakar.

He studied the violin and conducting at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava and the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. After his studies he was Concertmaster of the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Slovak National Theatre Orchestra for two years. Since 1985 he has been the Concertmaster of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2001 he took over the position of Artistic Leader of the Slovak Chamber Orchestra after its founder Bohdan Warchal.
As a soloist and conductor Mr Danel has performed on the stages of almost all European countries, and Japan, Korea, Brazil, Russia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Panama, USA. In 2008–2014 he was the Principal Guest Conductor of the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra.
Apart from his conducting and solo activities with orchestras and solo recitals he has a wealth of experience in chamber music, mainly as leader of the Slovak Quartet since 1986 and as co-founder of the Slovak Piano Trio since 1987. In 1992–1996 he was Artistic Leader of the Bratislava Chamber Orchestra Cappella Istropolitana. He also cooperates in various chamber ensemble projects at home and abroad.
An important part of his artistic activities is long-term cooperation with amateur and church choirs and music ensembles as conductor, organiser and sacred music composer. He taught at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava from 1987 – 1998, from 1999 – 2003 and 2007 – 2009 he held the position of Visiting Professor at the Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music in Nagoya in Japan. In 2001 he led masterclasses for professional orchestral musicians at the Affinis Music Festival in Japan. From 2014 he teaches at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica.
